Preciosa perspectiva. Buen trabajo!!

Licia Rothermel   {K:2371} 4/15/2004
Beautiful, excellent composition. Another interesting angle would be vertical, showing more of what's beyond the arch. Cutting off the left arch leaves me a bit unsettled, especially because of perspective, which makes it look tilted. But all in all, this is a great shot!

Maria José Barres   {K:11276} 4/15/2004
Gracias por tus comentarios, Licia. Este día, estrenaba la cámara nueva, mi primera digital y estaba intentando hacer una panorámica...y me quedé sin baterias!!!!!Saludos.

You live in such a beautiful part of the world. It would be wonderful to be able to walk down streets such as this and soak up the atmosphere which you capture so well. Wonderful tones that capture the age of the subject and create an impression of warmth and peace.

Thank you for your own comments - as in all Japanese Gardens the tree has been lovingly sculptured and maintained over many years, but amazingly seems to be as if never touched by human hands.

Regards 7/7

Maria you capture the most beautiful places.
Where I live I have no places like this, If I did I would most definletely take pictures of them as well.
You have captured this very good.
The point of view that you used here is excellent.
So much in one photo..the arches on the left, the stairs leading to the bells, the shadow
on the ground and of course, the spectacular view thru the center arch.
Superb job
Best Regards
Lee

maria, por favor escusame el espanol. no tengo con quien practicar. ;^) esta foto es muy melancolica para mi porque me recuerda de santo domingo. como no me acuerdo de las propias palabras, ahora continuare en ingles ;^)

sorry, i try to practice my spanish when i can ;^) beautiful and melancholic photo. very well captured. i feel the sepia (is that sepia?) tone is very fitting here as it evokes the feeling of being there very aptly. very well done!

hasta luego,
tom

John McCallum   {K:1856} 6/1/2004
Hello Maria. Really love your portfolio and this image especially. It is a difficult situation to compose but I really enjoy what you have done. For me, the lamp shadow anchors the bottom right very well but my eye is lead into the image through the archway and up the stairs to the bell tower. I only wish I could see a little more (or perhaps less would work as well) of the beautiful ornate doorway on the left.

Regina Rianelli   {K:24147} 6/4/2004
7 + maravilla, Amiga!

Complimenti,
Regina

André Bermak   {K:14443} 6/4/2004
Lindíssima captura,ótima tonalidade!!!!Eu já estive na Europa, e o país que mais gostei foi a Espanha..... :)

Mark Beltran   {K:32612} 6/9/2004
I like your perception of architecture. It is more towards a larger sense of it; the structure as a whole rather than a part of it, and the main features being in the center of the composition.

And thank you for looking at the Leica photographs and letting me know which one is best!

Antonio Trincone   {K:23167} 4/10/2005
excellent place and sepia tone; perspective too is very interesting
