I like this one best Roger. If I could change just one thing it would be to get the dancers 10 milliseconds off so that their arms would be at the same angle as the drum sticks and as the head of the drum. Other wise its a keeper mate!.

Hi Roger, A good choice of putting this shot as a prelude to the rest of the triptych. As a whole, I think browsing through each consecutive photo tells a very good story. I like this one, as it only hints at the growing interaction in numbers II and III. I only think the composition in this one is a bit unbalanced. With a slightly lower camera position and creating a bit more room on the bottom side, the image would've been stronger, I think. Still a very nice shot,

Hi Roger, well Hugo has a point, but if you used a lower position the the drum would be lost in the background of the dancers. I actually think the shot should have been a little further away, and possibly a little further left. I realise thats not always possible at these events.
Like the series though, very nicely themed.

Craig. I'm afraid you and your dictionary are right. I have a very good memory for words, but woe betide me if I ever remember anything wrong! I can NEVER get it right afterwards... Repeat 100 times trIptYch! trIptYch!! trIptYch!!! I'll have to remember it as something I "trip" over. [grin]

I like it when everyone is working in perfect sync..this is great... what is tryptich... I am so unaware.... LOL... What is it? And yes...mr panarama... I knew you would notice the birds in panarama format..LOL...Thank you for your kind comments on my stuff I always appreciate....

Rog, this is a superb travel shot, well framed and composed-it stands out because you have gone for a simple composition with contrasting and striking colours. the light is good, the angle is good and i feel like i am standing at the scene myself it draws the eye in so well.

I like this Triptych phase you have entered. I like the way these compositions balance eachother. This one in particular is very strong. The young girl has such a serene look of concentration, lovely.
P.S. Thanks again for all your encouragement. I won't give up my B&W for the new digital. I like the hands on developing way too much and love the results.

Debra. a triptych (got it right this time) is a set of three pictures, usually on screens, that are often put in front of (or behind) the altar in Catholic and Episcopalian churches. They are usually variations on a theme, though it can be a pretty BIG theme--creation on the left, crucifixion in the middle, last judgement on the right, for instance. [grin]. On Usefilm, it just means three pictures linked in some way... my first one was two pictures that were BITS of a third, which was really cheating. This time there are three on the same theme. "I" is the single drummer gir, "II" is the girl and her mentor, and "III" is the mentor, a boy drummer, and a grandma. Much nearer the real thing...
