About This little wren made her nest inside the garden lantern. All day long she flies in and out with goodies for her babies. This image was shot at ISO 800 due to the deep shade. (f5/6, 1/180)

This is a wonderful capture, Mary Sue! We have a wren family with a nest in a little birdhouse outside our window, but they're so incredibly quick! Nice of her to make a nest in a see-through place! :)

Even with 800 ISO you managed a very smooth shot with great colour. I love the fact that the lantern is transparent and the nest can be seen with such detail. Excellent DOF as the lanteren and the wren stand out so well.
Beautifully framed.

That's the kind of lantern I was looking for to put in my garden. It's got a great shape, and it looks like a classic Japanese design. That wren's got good taste in architecture. I'm just marveling at how well you got the exposure down for the shade and the background in full sun.

Very dramatic moment to capture, excellently done. It makes me wonder, will the babes be able to jump out on time as they grow? I guess they will, but I don't how growth progresses. Keep photographing this family, it's a neat setup and I'd love to know how the babies turn out.

Jenny, thanks for your comment on this one. I am pretty sure by now (this was shot 5 months ago) the babies have flown the coop. I figure the grown up babies were able to get out since the grown up parent could get in and out.

Next spring I'll have to try to shoot a similar shot. Thanks for your comment!
