About Little singer was perched on a branch high in a bush about 20 feet away. Thought he looked like an Audobon painting. No mods to photo except Usefilm resizing. TCON-17 extender, full zoom

Very good... I am wondering how you get close enough to captue him..I see you used full zoom... I am trying to shoot some birds too...but they take off...LOL... How is Palo Alto I use to live in bay area too..I miss it...

Actually Debra, I used full zoom (420mm) PLUS the TCON-17, which multiplies the 420 X 1.7 for a total of around 700mm equivalent. Even at that, he wasn't exactly filling the frame, but I liked his pose anyway. Thanks for your comments. The shot was taken at the Baylands marshlands at the foot of SF Bay, not really in the town of Palo Alto, but close!

Nice one John! I like the detailed color of the bird and the green compliments from the branch leaves. Nice composition as well which leads the eyes easily around the picture. I love taking nature shots too...just can't get close enough! :) Thanks for sharing and look forward to more. (7)
