This is a great image. Colors, detail and composition are all wonderful. The out of focus buds on the left do not bother me as the center is so well focused. Don't have a clue as to what the flower is. Don.

Hi Lori, Reading your comment, I can only conclude this series goes out with a bang!....;o) Excellent DOF, and the composition with the out of focus buds in front is something I don't see very often. That's what makes this shot for me. I like the shadow of the stamen on the petals, also a very good and unusual touch. Great shot, a real winner.

Hallo Lori! This is a pretty good close up and I like it not only because of the interesting and different flower but also because of the sunlighting that makes this great shadows on the petals. Very good DOF. Perchaps it could be better HOWEVER this is VERY difficult and need a camera with ...at least 5 focus points to do this. So the result is VERY good and with a Canon G2 camera, I know that you are a very good photographer. Congratulations!

Into my favorites for sure! I know this flower, it is very common here, but I have never looked at it this way. It looks so delicate and elegant to me. Great lightning and I like the softness in the background. I am very fond of macro-photography and I have discovered it changed the way I am looking to the world around me. I have more eye for details now and the beauty in even the littlest things.
