Hi Roger, Technically, I think you captured this shot rather well, but aesthetically, there are a few things that come to mind...

There's a slight tilt in the horizon, and I find the red roof on the left a bit distracting. It looks as if you had to pan the camera up in order to remove some of the distractions in the foreground. Furthermore, I think I would've liked a wider view over the ocean, thus also placing the lighthouse a bit more off center.

But wow, what a beautiful colours. Amaisingly tranquile....

great composition!
the sky is fantastic!!

Antonio Trincone   {K:23167} 4/27/2004
gorgeous sky; a different angle could eliminate that orange rooftop which while being nice it hide the path to lighthouse, the latter should in fact be best improved in the foreground obtaining in my opinion a better overall composition

Günter Koth   {K:13841} 4/27/2004
Roger, the roof at the left is a bit distracting. Otherwise great shot with fantastic colors.
Best regards, Günter.

One of the most beautiful lighthouses I've ever seen.
Great clarity, splendid colours and lighting. I think it is a shame that you didn't take this shot with the lighthouse more to the left side of the image that the red roof wouldn't show and..
Ok sorry, I've just seen Hugo's comment and he said all I wanted to say. I had also made my own correction in PS. Almost thesame result as Hugo with the exception of the shape of the image. I gropped more on top to make the composition more balanced.
Anyway. Whatever. I like this shot a lot Roger and 5.5 is to me an awfully low rate!
Hugs - Emgy

Buy me one grampy Rog! Spectacular, that white and the colour of the sky and land makes me think of Greece, not Byron Bay.
