About This is the third and final sunset taken at Budle Bay, Northumberland, earlier this month. I was experimenting with the 'rush effect' that using a wide angle lens has when it's pointed downwards. The stones look as though they're rushing towards the lens and the wide angle gives prominence to the larger stone. I used a 0.9 ND grad to balance the foreground light against the bright sky. The horizon looks tilted but this is an optical illusion as I've checked it in PS!

Yep, you are right about the horizon, its level, but 'feels' high on the left. Beautiful sunset, and I love the foreshortened 'Joe Cornish' style composition.

Very nice

Man, that the sky, the orange reflections and that sole rock perfectly placed makes this photo perfect. I love the sky and all the colours, from warm to cold in the foreground. It is great. I wish I could give some constructive criticism, but I can't. I am too busy enjoying it. Great work.

It looks like a scene from the prehistoric times. The tilt looks natural. I've seen it in real life, and it looks better this way. This is a very enjoyable-looking photograph. It makes me wish I could just step inside.

Very interesting capture here. I like the mood, the varying elements, the colors. Quite a unique image. I do think if the lone rock was less centered it would only strengthen this just a bit more. It could easily anchor either the bottom right or left very effectively. Just my opinion...still a nice scene just like it is.

Super shot Barry, love the rush as you say. Is this how you wet that effect? by pointing wide angle lens downward? Congrats on BIP. Regards Steve.

Thank you for your comment. I had tried different angles to keep out the wires but I simply had no room as by hotel balcony was a small one. Also Im not a heavy user of photoshop, I guess in that case im a littel old fashioned as I do not like to use photoshop in my pictures. Im an ameture as far as photography is concerned and I dont mind making mistakes and getting them corrected by professionals like you. Thanks for the comment and guidance.
