About Hi, UF friends! You know, I love colors... but I feel they wouldn?t work well in this capture... I?ve made many tries since I took it, on our trip to Brotas, last February..sky was so noisy..I was almost giving up, but my dear Márcio Costa told me he likes this version.. so here it is. Edited in PS from a night picture (or very early morning one...)
Color mode neutral
Shutter speed 1/100
Aperture 3.6
Exposure compensation -2
To Kristina Kolhut (Kriss) and her "Bloody time". Someday, maybe I can?t do something as beautiful as that picture.
To Márcio Costa (UF 22258), who always helps me.

Very moody shot, Carmen! Great atmosphere. Quite alot of noise, though. To be honest, I like the original better, though. I think the atmosphere is stronger in that one. The contrast in the dark parts is excellent. Just high enough to make out all individual shapes, but also subdued enough to create the atmosphere. Very well done!

Cheers,

Hugo

Carinho, sempre.
Carmem

Firstly there is a need for your advice to address the question 'what is it' at http://www.usefilm.com/image/432930.html

Secondly fully agree that colour is basic... and sometime even the absence of colour... can serve a purpose... but you have light... and have presented this well!

Jorge Vasconcelos   {K:33746} 4/30/2004
Nice, with the available light I don?t know if color, by PS ,could do the miracle...But you?re the author ,yours is the option, you must be right.
Regards

Sergio Brunetto   {K:2583} 4/30/2004

It's wonderful! I like this interesting sepia tone, it gives a really "moody" feeling!

Gustavo Fadel   {K:892} 5/1/2004

Yoshi Enoki Jr   {K:3601} 5/2/2004
Nice!

Carmem: regarding the Butterfly - the BG is not an effect: I shot the butterfly inside a sanctuary where there were many other butterflies - the BG is the netting wall of the sanctuary, so that it won't fly away.

So many of your photos give us the vision of a tropical paradise. The colours and atmospheres are incredibly tranquil and gorgeous. I love the soft pastel sky, the single beckoning light and the feathery trees. Beautiful, just beautiful.
