About While it is sometimes hard to NOT get blown out reds with many cameras, I tried to get a "painted" look to this Gerbera daisy...perhaps a little too strong in the effect but otherwise the petals would appear dull as the flower was taken indoors with insufficient lighting. No flash was used in the original shot. Your opinions?

Colors are fantastic, Bill. Light is as it should be, but on my monitor it seems a bit oversharpened. Anyway a beautiful floral shot, congrats.

Gunther....Many thanks for your fine remarks. Yes,it is oversharpened whereby I did overdo it a bit. I was trying for the "painting effect" but perhaps it backfired a little here. I'll know to not over sharpen next time though I do like my shots on the sharp side. Its the degree of sharpness that is crucial of course. I could redo it for my own files. Take care...

Has good color..Like your composition..you can always try some home made lights/reflectors or bounce a flash?

My 200mm lens is putting me a good 4-5ft away from the butterflys..with 2x even further, I am also cropping the image a bit...my lens is not a Macro lens.
Regards, Bill
