About A poem I wrote to this photo of Tsjip, looking out on a creek. Though it was not dark yet when this photo was taken last Winter, it came out this way.

What a beautiful heartrending poem. My thoughts are with you as you go through this very emotional time. I know, I have been there many times before. It is a most difficult time. I thought I was going to lose one of my cats recently but he has pulled through and is getting better each day.
When I am gone, release me, let me go-
I have so many things to see and do.
You must not tie yourself to me with tears,
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you have each shown.
But now it is time I traveled alone.
So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must,
Then let your grief be comforted by trust,
It is only for a while that we must part,
So bless the memories within your heart,
I will not be far away, for life goes on,
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can not see or touch me, I will be near.
And if you listen with your heart, you will hear
All my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone,
I will greet you with a smile and "Welcome Home".

Christine, thank you for that lovely poem. Yes it's always sad to part from a pet you love. There have been many in the past years, but somehow Tsjip is very special to us, probably due to her character, she's a dog with humor you know.

Antonio, thanks for commenting

Aren't they marvelous ?
I lost a dog too, a few years ago, a Golden Retriever. Her name was Naya, the goddess of water. The day she died, our flat was flooded from a broken water pipe.

Enjoy    {K:16125} 5/18/2004

A bleak image with a poignant poietic message !

Sad and its a shame that Tsjip's time has come.
We will all get our time of reckening -
For the journey into the unknown paradise.
Tsjip has had her sojourn -
And its time to go....

Now its September, hope Tsjip is still around. I don't hold my breath. But may be she is still around.....

Dogs are such a beautiful animals.

regards
ken.
