About An Arara Azul, or Blue Macaw at close up. The fellow was happy to pose and was showing off while I was taking his pictures. No lack of selfconfidence one might say!

Excellent colours! I think this is an old bird? judging from his beak?

Hi Linn,

yes I think he's quite old, but he was using his beak (only, no feet) to hang in the fence as well showing off and these fellows are not small and light!

He was really funny and 'movie-star' aware of the camera....

You got yourself a perfect model, Jeroen.
Old but still proud of his/her beauty and he can't be blamed. A beauty he is indeed!
Excellent close-up, splendid colours and great textures. Very interesting details. I'd never seen an old ara like this one. It's unbelievable that he could still use his beak to sustain himself.

Amazing portrait...
Excellent model!
Congrats.

What I find more amazing than bird's feather colours is the colour of their skin! This is a great shot of a wise old chap. I watched Linn photographing parrots and it is difficult because they want to show off for the camera!
