Bill, just call them "Red flower from my garden #1" etc. :-))
This is a Dahlia. Glorious flower, very forgiving, and it will give you months of colour and enjoyment. Bees love them - so get that macro setting all ready! :-)
A friend of mine (just up the road) has a garden filled with Dahlias - every colour you can possibly think of and I had a lot of fun shooting her flowers.
Bye Linn

Thanks Linn,....Yes, I remember that there were many different types/colors of these when I did go to the nursery. Very pretty flowers.
I have not done much shooting of late and will have to start getting back out there. My good shots from my files are getting scare. Oh No!
Best regards.... Bill

Bill, the Dahlia is a bulb flower. Get some and when it is time to plant, do it. In Autumn they will start dying off, but you leave the bulbs underground and the next Spring you will see them come up again. That way you will have an endless supply of fresh and new images :-))
