Trish, Trish, Trish...ya just keep tossing them out. Do I over analyze this? Do I do the "McCartney is dead" digging deep to find hidden meanings that were never intended yet still observable? Ok, let me take a stab at that approach first. I see a person, adult, stepping into the sand of a beach. One foot firmly planted (the right) and the other (left) foot, pressed just to give an impression. Because the right foot was planted firmly, it is a bit messed up as to clarity. My guess is the person pivoted on the right foot to step back and it made for a more distorted impression. Then, having the child come forth, having the young one step close but not touch, the meaning of the photo was stamped out, "I am not yet to this point....but I now see what I can become." The not touching is perfect. DaVinci had the same thought when he painted the ceiling "over by dare" and the finger of God was just a tad off the finger of man...the creation had happened, the connection made, but it did not have to be shown. We get the point. And in the background, the sea, as Matthew Arnold wrote in his poem "Dover Beach", "...Where the sea meets the moon-blanch'd land, Listen! you hear the grating roar Of pebbles which the waves draw back, and fling, At their return, up the high strand, Begin, and cease, and then again begin, With tremulous cadence slow, and bring The eternal note of sadness in." The whole compass of human endeavor is captured in this one simple, yet deeply moving photo. We shall set the table for the young ones to sit at. They in turn shall pass along the solid, fundamental beliefs that make life worth living...family, friends, love, life. A simple foot near a simple impression, and the thoughts of eons hang heavy in the air. OR...the second option, the Jimmie school of shooting a pickture..."accident." No, I think the former. Even if you were not conscious of the effort, the truth is ingrained in you...and you understand. Life. Hope. Promise. Ya caught it all in a simple footstep/print. Your fan and ardent supporter. JIL

wow!! so honored that you love my work. :) thanks. here is how this photo came about. my nephew and son where putting their foot prints in the sand and jumping around. so I decided to take a photo of their prints left behind; and as I'm looking through my camera to snap the photo of prints my little one decides to come up to see what mommy is doing and snap caught her foot in on the shot at that moment. accidental shot but loved it. thank you on your comments. I truley appreciate every word your write to me. thank you thank you thank you :)

Trish - simplicity is where it's at - less is definitely more here. Jim lost me in his 'heavy' comment - what a trip! Well done. Kind Regards, Cindi
