About I have changed the title, because after some help from you friends (in comments)I know better now than to call it "unknown bug"! ;-)

How cool that I captured eggs without even knowing it! :-))

Kristina Kohut   {K:49990} 5/26/2004
Thanks Eric! :-)) I made a search on "stink bug" and yes, it seems to be that. Latin name Dolycoris baccarum. I'm off to work soon, but quickly checked some info about it, and it said "It lays the eggs in june, in groups, and the female is guarding them carefully".

And now I start wondering if those little strange balls it seems to hug are eggs! (?) It's not june yet, but... haha... this is interesting!

No idea what it is, but it's a great shot. If he were human, he'd be building sky scrapers, no doubt. Hold on tight, little fellow. Lou

Lorenzo Conserva   {K:2415} 5/26/2004
Great macro! I'm trying to get some decent macro with the G5... not so easy to focus. Could you tell me at what distance do you shoot. Manual focus... ?

Thanks a lot and congrats again.

Lorenzo

Hello Teunis!

Yes, I think it IS eggs... But I didn't know that when I took the photo! I took it 5 days ago, but haven't had time to post.

REPLY TO BILIANA:

Hello Bibi! Haha... no, it was around 3PM (but that is close to 4 or 5) ;-)

Kristina Kohut   {K:49990} 5/26/2004
REPLY TO LORENZO:

Hello Lorenzo! Well yes... there are better cameras for macros... hehe. And definitely better lenses. I have a closeup lense to the G5 (I didn't use it here though) but I don't think it makes such difference.

Yes, I focused manually, from about maybe 15 cm and zoomed in. I agree it's difficult, because it never allows to come as close as we want.

Zsolt Radákovits   {K:7763} 5/26/2004
