About I've been experimenting with studio light trying to get better at portrait lighting. I'm learning a lot from these flowers. My only regret is I had on a macro lens. I wasn't seeing what I wanted to close up on this flower so I backed off, as a result he DOF is not that great. I think I would've like the whole shot to be crisp...any thoughts on this?

Dear Megan, I like your composition - it's a first great step into the right direction. The headlight is a little bit to bright (perhaps a diffuser will help) and the sheet at the right corner below is a little bit dark. In such cases I use a flash and it helps (in most cases).

And by the way, I like the background - it's perfect.

Thanks so much Gerhard. Good suggestions all...
I like to shoot with natural light but some of my portrait jobs are asking for studio set ups. Practice, practice practice...that's what I need.

Studio lighting is not my niche---at least not right now---but I do recognize art when I see it and this is ART! You have a very creative eye!
