As I was shooting her photo, I couldn't help but notice how much older this 11 year old was. In her eyes, I could see the anticipation of prom dates, drinking parties, and one boy or many. I knew her life now. That it's the first step to the last step and it's the first time I ever realized that there would be a last time she'd feel the need to hold her parents' hands.
