About Another photo from the trip to Saddleworth Moor.

This one's a desolate house on a hillside near to Scammonden Reservoir (which is the big reservoir next to the M62 near Huddersfield).

I positioned myself to get the sun directly behind the house, then used the Curves in Photoshop to up the blackness of the house to get the Silhouette you see.

The name's a very poor pun on the Stephen King novel, Salem's Lot, as the house looks like the kind of place you'd find a vampire.

Good composition and lighting.

Cheers for the feedback.

We got really lucky with the light that evening, the sun hung around the odd cloud making interesing patterns on the reservoirs till it finally set.

Another one I quite like from this shoot was the one attached....

Cheers

Ade

PS

Just been looking through some of your portfolio - some superb landscapes in there. Will take a closer look when I get home.

Very nice, I like that the house is silhouetted, and the beams of light from behind. I would have called this photo "The Path of the Beam", another Stephen King reference.
