Taken at Deer Lake Park, during a photo excursion with Kim C, who helped immensely with this photo by allowing me to pose her so she would eclipse the sky and eliminate the white reflection on the waterdrop. Didn't get all of it, though. D'oh!
As always, more DOF would have been nice. Hopefully it's sharp where it counts. I did have a tripod in this case, though it was acting as more of a monopod due to the inaccessibility of this particular leaf. Excuses, excuses.
PS work: curves, warming of tones, unsharp mask. Stacked filters to +8.

Kim is a good friend! First you have her breathe on your lenses to fog them, now she provides shade... what a gal! :)
This is a cool shot! It took me a minute to recognize what is inside the water bubble - I thought it was an insect, but it's one of those twirly-seed thingys, isn't it (sorry for using technical language! :) I like the repeating layers of the leaves, and the nicely matched green and yellow. The short DOF did bite you here, and it would have been nice to see the whole bubble sharp - but that great detail in the 'wing' is right in the 'sweet spot'. Close-up filters definitely chew up the DOF - you're lucky to end up with 1mm or two even at f/11!
A polarizer might have helped eliminate the reflection of the cloud, but you may also have lost some of the silvery aspect of the water... I don't mind it in there.

Honestly, that tiny slice of reflection is not a distraction to your subject, though.

Kim IS a good friend. She also lets me use her slide projector, her graduated ND filter and she's taught me everything I know about photography (except how to obsess over baby duck pictures).
I did use a polarizer on this shot - I just forgot to make note of it. (Oops!) In fact, I think my shutter was actually at 1/8, so I'm amazed bits of the scene were sharp at all. Yes, the subject is a "twirly-seed thingy" (I don't know what it's called either!), but I really liked how it looked like a wing.

Hey, MarySue says it's okay to shoot a baby duck here and there... *grin* The colours in the slide are really vibrant and I think that it translated fairly well to the screen. The layers of green have nice depth to them and are evenly lit (who is that assistant?? she rocks!) hahahhaha
