About No PS, only resized to upload here. I wanted to clone out the seperate smaller trees, but am not that good in Ps..so this is it. I climbed down a hill in a pasture, full of chiggers and tall grass..expecting a snake at any time... lol

I KNOW what chiggers are!!! they act like i am their buffet! LOL...get out the calamine and don't scratch,lady...striking silhouette with beautiful lighting..i know what ya mean about cloning out stuff/it can eat up a lot of time AND be frustrating..tree has an eerie look..good shot..gayle

Jim Loy   {K:23439} 6/7/2004
The smaller trees give the image scale. A perspective we would miss if they were not there. And yes...chiggers....dang wee varmints...

No, no the smaller trees are fine, maybe the wires could have been cloned out, but I am no whiz at cloning so I can't say much. I love the tree, right up my alley. Spooky, I seem to have an affinity with all things eerie. Love the setting sun too.

Nothing is worth chigger bites, but this comes very very close. Just beautiful.

Wonderful! I would love to see other shots taken at the same time from different angles. Did you have time to get off more than one????? By the way, what is a chigger? Maybe we call them something else up here, but I am not familiar with the word.

Rebecca Raybon   {K:26655} 6/7/2004
Thanks Richard. I took about a dozen shots I think, before it got too dark and I was almost running to get out! The tree sits against some other trees, so I had to get behind it to isolate it from them, and it's down in a very low spot in a pasture. I'll attach a shot that I took just as I got there, as it is seen from the road.

First shot

Rebecca Raybon   {K:26655} 6/7/2004
Here is a cropped vertial shot Richard. I cropped a lot of black from the bottom. And a chigger is a very tiny, tiny little bug that gets in the grass. You can't see them until it's too late usually, and they have bitten the devil out of you! Fortunately, I sailed home, took a bath and survived it without too many bites!

Richard Dakin   {K:12852} 6/7/2004
Wow. I like the vertical shot better, though I am not able to explain why in technical terms. It just works for me. Have you tried a B+W conversion on any of these?

jon parsons   {K:13630} 6/7/2004
a most beautiful shot Rebecca! already you are doing much better with the camera than I did!! wonderful presentation and very dramatic to boot....jon

Rebecca Raybon   {K:26655} 6/7/2004
No Jon, not better. We all have out individual styles I think. Your shots were beautiful with this camera, and they will be with the new one too, once you get some decent weather :)
