About i was having a terrible time getting very blurry pictures with my new nikon D70~but Antonella Nistri gave me some advice on how to set the camera up when using my 70-300 telephoto lens ( much faster shutter speed than I was using before} thanks Dearest Antonella! IT WORKED!....jon PS: this was taken from about 90 yards distance at full telephoto 300mm

Hi Jon, very good action shot. And yes, the fast shutterspeed is the solution. at 300mm, even the slightest trembling / camera shake might cause a blurred image. Another option to prevent that is either using a monopod, but also underexposing by -0,5 to -1,0 EV. In this case, that would also have prevented the slight over exposed spots (hands and frisbee) By underexposing one stop, the shutter speed doubles at Aperture priority. It also allows you to expose at 200 ASA with the same Shutter and Aperture settings. I find that my D100 overexposes easily too, so the -xxEV setting is in most cases needed to balance the tonal range and luminosity of the shot.

As to the composition, I could argue that I would crop off a bit on the left side of the image, but I don't think that is the key issue here. I do like the DOF and the tree, partially blocking the girl on the right. Very good capture.
