About Looking again at this neg. from circa 1960 I was reminded how,in those days, youngsters were more likely to make their own fun instead of playing computer games or sitting in front of the television

wow, great, great pin crisp detail - in 1960, I think we got three TV channels in Toronto, two came across Lake Ontario with some static from Buffalo.

I wish Ihave more than 7, David , but you know I don't.
So, seven it is for the lack of higher grades, numbers, points.
Love this boy in motion, the perfect dof and focus.
Boy, you know it all.
Cheers,
Marília

Hello David,
One couldn?t find a better matching photo to the comments you made. Yes kids seemed to be happier and richer in their fantasies that they are now. The computer games completely drain and exhaust the children, creating fake and dangerous, yet ephemeral, substitutions for real-life situations. This eventually strips them off the ability to communicate with others and possibly builds a foundation for all kind of physiological disorders.
This photo is simple, yet very wise. It perfectly conveys the real joy of this beautiful boy. Compositionally it concentrates on the emotional aspect of the moment, but at the same time conveys the dynamism of the play.
This photo reveals the greatness of real-life photography which Henri Cartier Bresson elevated to the highest levels of art.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful work with us.
Warmest regards ? Armen
