I have added grain, changed tones, played with softness-sharpness etc. Hope you like it.

hi Kristina..
yeesss.. much compound appeals to a lot to me is an optimal job in order to obtain an ancient effect nearly of gold!!! the subject is already beautiful of its with that light "out of focus" - soft.. I appreciate always your beautiful and searched photos much.
optimal also the composition!
cheers

greetings, uwe

Thilo Bayer   {K:50355} 6/17/2004
Dear Kristina,

great rework of the original composing. powerful color, detail and ancient style. the only thing that irritates me are the hard outlines that some objects have. That looks a tad artificial. It's just a small thing though, your rework is really creative. cheers, thilo

Chris Spracklen   {K:32552} 6/17/2004
Great PS work, Kris ~ I very much prefer the artistic version!! It really brings out the wear and creases in the shoes.
Kind regards, Chris

hi kristina
i've been watching your work for a while since i have got back from my holiday and i have hated not to be able to comment regularly on it. - you must know by now that i am pretty addicted to comments on photos - i had to promise myself this will be the last one for today, cause it's pretty stressing atm. i just couldn't resist cause i think that what you did with the original shot is antastic. great to see you're in a creative mood again. the original is superb but this elaboration is excellent work.love the toning and the grain, which suits the image perfectly
wonderful creative work. congratulations. 7+++
thanks for caring - hugs
.

Kristina Kohut   {K:49990} 6/17/2004
Oh, Emgy... You are so sweet, thankyou! :-)) But seriously, you should take it very easy and not sit and comment because your bones might not heal properly!

Can't you type with your toes? Hihi... just joking! I really wish you to get well soon and don't you DARE commenting my photos until you are healed! Haha I click the "abuse" button if you do it!

God, what a nightmare you seem to have been in! I want to ask so much about what happened etc, but I wait till you are okay and can write a lot.

Maria Luisa Vial   {K:36017} 6/17/2004

Kristina,

This image has such an "Old World" feel to it. It could easily be taken for a photo from another, simpler time.

Taras

Kristina Kohut   {K:49990} 6/22/2004
Thankyou Ned! :-) Haha... noooo, it's not my shoes!

Andy Simmons   {K:7704} 6/22/2004
Interesting PS work. The old fashioned, grainy look of this shot reminds me of an old movie, "Gold Rush," a Charlie Chaplin film in which he cooks and eats a shoe that looks very much like one of those in your shot! But that's just a personal reaction, and probably not the mood you were looking for in this shot.

Paul Lara   {K:86834} 6/23/2004
Wow! Especially when compared with the original, this is a splendid photo. you turned an 'ok' shot into a SUPER shot, Kriss!

Kristina Kohut   {K:49990} 6/23/2004
Thankyou, Andy! :-) I haven't seen that film... or at least I can't "place" it... I must have seen it as a kid, but don't remember it. Although it must really remind of it, since you are the third person who say's that it makes you think of Charlie Chaplin!

Carmem A. Busko   {K:48767} 6/23/2004
Excellent artwork, Kriss!
The original composition is great too!
Congrats!
Regards,
Carmem

Roland Sköldblom   {K:357} 6/23/2004
Very great job, Kriss and a very well done job in Photoshop. Very creative picture. It really proves your artistic skill. And I have to agree with other comments too as well, I think this really make me think of Charlie Chaplin, who is one of my favorite actors:) Have a nice day, Kriss:)

Andy Simmons   {K:7704} 6/23/2004
Kristina, thanks for commenting on my bird photos. I used to teach courses in film studies, and I showed Chaplin's "Gold Rush" each semester for several years. I read somewhere that the shoe he ate in the film was a prop made of licorice. Anyway, his shoes looked exactly like the ones in your photo. But I bet yours are real:-)

davide lupo-pasini   {K:8079} 6/24/2004
exellent catch, kris...
it make me think to the night of working miner...
(i ever xcuse me for my bad english..ehehehe )
personally, i found a little excessive the vertical white contour of the right recipent(thermos, pipe or else..)
but i really like the effect u done to this shot....
compliments!
ciao! davide 7/7

Hugo de Wolf   {K:185017} 6/26/2004
Hi Kristina, very created still life, with a unrivalled timeless quality about it. Good PS work, and a very good composition. I'm not sure if the pedestal on the right adds to the atmosphere of the image, but it fills the image and balances the composition very well. Nice work!

Cheers,

Hugo

P. Christine Skinner   {K:27380} 6/27/2004
Excellent PS work. You have given it that 'taken 100 years ago' look. Silence, it fits, the pan is empty and the boots on the counter say "I'm done" to me for some reason.

Gustavo Eulalio   {K:3774} 6/28/2004
Great shot, Kristina. Reminds me of the Charles Chaplin movies (Yummy, boot soup for dinner!), and your PS work helps a lot.

Dear Kriss, I?m here to thank you for your kind comments, I?m not in my best moment, this is why I?m too late, but I?m sure you understand. I know you are busy, but I hope to see some new photos from you. This one is very beautiful, old style toning and good composition, but? where you found my boots? ;))) A big kiss!!! Max

cessy karina   {K:14205} 8/30/2004

Sam Andre   {K:12648} 9/12/2004
those sureley were made for walking... it looks like they walked out the Flamish fields during the Great War... A job well done.
