About Sometimes the good and the bad can be combined. In this case my business trip brought me to a beach near Viareggio in lovely Tuscany. =)

I made these two shots within a timeframe of about 3 hours. Had some luck to get a comparable shooting point. Credit for the inspiration to make a double pictures goes out to Hugo.

Comments are highly appreciated.

Hi Thilo, great idea,
and very good work, i very like it,
inclusion of some people might be also interesting and might enrich the composition,

Dear Baki,

Thanks for the inspiring comment. In fact, I tried to do that but didn't get comparable people in there. AND: I decided to include this picture in the "Alone" section so that people would disturb somehow ;-)

Thanks, Thilo

Hallo Thilo :) Eine super Idee und toll realisiert! Bravo.

Nice one. Good idea. I guess it was a pain in the aBEEP to find two with the same perspective. Cheers, bro!

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 6/22/2004
Dear Roby,

unfortunately, the business trip was a rather short one with no spare time (24h hour programm) ;-) But I will definitely come again one day. I have been to Lucca in the past and will go there as soon as possible. Thanks for the kind comments! Cheers, Thilo

Hi Thilo, A late reply is better than no reply, I hope...;o) Been rather busy, but will also catch up soon...

Very original shot, and perfecly similar composition. Interesting to see what the sun can do to the tones of an image. on the right, the tones are alot warmer.

It also shows why the early morning or late afternoon are the best times for photography, the photo on the right has more texture and details in the sand, not only because the sun is lower, casting longer shadows, but also because it's less bright, making the details come out better (and making the exposure more easy, too)

This is turning into a "spot the difference" game. Great diptych, very well executed. How did you get the two identical shots? Luck? PS? or did you create / note down a reference?

I'm flattered you feel inspired by me... When I first looked at this one, it did inspire me back, and gave me an interesting idea for a triptych, trying to capture a day. (3 shots, taken of the same subject, 8 hours apart... That oughta be gooood too!

Cheers,

Hugo

Dear Hugo,

Luck was my friend this time. I shot the first picture then came back hours later and thought about making additional shots. I had practically not hint about the position so I looked at the first pictures and then guessed the right position =)

Personally I'm a great fan of late afternoon/evening sunlight. The early morning may even be better but I'm not the right guy to get up early. Maybe this will change when getting children ;-)

bouncing inspiration is a great thing ;-) I stay tuned for the result.

Take care, Thilo

Pedro Libório   {K:53855} 6/29/2004
both nice, I prefer the "On" version, if I have to choose!!! :-)

Uwe Bachmann   {K:10222} 7/8/2004
