The harsh sun just shows the translucency of the petals. I like the title because it can be interpreted in so many ways. Competition with the sun, but also with each other for the sun, or for space, or attention. Speaking of competition, maybe you should enter this in one. It's a prize winner.

Great job, Rebecca. I like everything about it. The reflections in the water, the shadows cast by the petals, but most of all I like those blooms you have captured so beautifully.

Beautiful pixie supplicants to the 'bearer of light'. What a wonderful flower with the most interesting center I have ever seen (I never did remember the names of the parts of flowers). Superb lighting.
