Hi Roy and thanks for your comment. I'm excited about the D70. I've been shooting with a compact digicam for 2 years before buying the digital SLR, and what struck me first was the much better clarity in the photographs. I'm also happy with the speed/responsetime. It feels/reacts completely like an analogue SLR (atleast very much the same to my old nikon 601AF).
Ofcourse its annoying with the 1.5 crop factor, especially when I'm a fan of ultrawideangle photography. I had to invest in the 1000$ 12-24 mm DX lens, which offers exactly what I hoped for, but I'm beginning to find this hobby somewhat expensive  )
For a comsumer grade dSLR I couldnt be happier with my d70. I bought nikon because I already had a nikon lens-system. I'm sure canon's 300d is as good in terms of imagequality, but in terms of speed & features I believe the d70 is superior.

Lars,
Thanks for all the info. I still haven't made the jump to digital and don't know if I'll use it alot professionally so I hate to sink thousands into it. The D70 is just know coming out in the U.S. and looks like a good option.
