About Exploring light, angles and focus of a friend's neck and hair. Light source was tungsten - modeling light from a studio flash, it was handheld. Film was 32 ASA - Kodak's late Panatomic-X.
I like the way her body lines and drive the eyes to her hair which, with its confusing lines, leads to her mind confusion. Well, at least the way I imagined it...
Scanned directly from the negative.

Oi Carmem,

Hi Zandra,

thanks for the comment, I really like comments from people whose work I appreciate.

I find hair interesting because it gives a strong sensation of sharpness. And when we use depth of focus well it seems even sharper. Also, hair passes a sensation of movement, sometimes confusion. It's really interesting.

I'll keep looking for your hair experiments.

See ya!

Choosing to set focus on her hair rather then on her neck was a good choise in my opinion. Hair, for some reasom can be very intresting. The structure and the way the light falls on it makes the eye wanting to explore it.. I tried something simular, focusing on hair that is. Put my hair up in a nice litle hair due and took some shots. More intrested of teh light and structure of the hair then anything else. That one didn't turn out very well though, blurry due to focus problem. Think i'm gonna try it again, with my new camera. I have more controll with that one.

Carmem
