I LOVE high ratio hard lighting, it's so BOLD!!!
I like this just the way you have it, even sans hand!!
Great expression, and actually with the hand missing, kind of adds mystery....is someone pulling the person? Pointing? don't know, so it's OK!

Morning Carmem, another great portrait/action shot from you. To me (IMO) these images are better in colour, can't explain why but i just love the expressions on the kids faces and seeing it in colour means i can travel to this place without leaving my sitting room :) Brilliant work. +7 from me.

Intenso drama nessa foto, Carmem! Ficou excelente em cores. Os tons escuros, a expressao no rosto da crianca, olhando para a luz, a aparencia de estar tentando alcancar algo fora da tela (a luz?)... tudo isso exprime tensao, luta. Li uma tentativa de alcancar a luz (só por conhecer a história da foto é que sei que de fato esta lancando um objeto)
Muito boa mesmo.
Para adicionar, eu seria muito tentado a substrair... aquela fita colorida ao fundo.

Bela foto! Eu particularmente prefiro a colorida pois trás a coloração do sol no rosto do menino de forma mais intensa.
Foi uma pena você não ter conseguido enquadrar a mão dele na foto.
A expressão no rosto dele está muito interessante.

Hi Carmem, I realised it took quite some time before I noticed I've spelled your name wrong in more than one occasion. Sorry about that, it won't happen again...
The expresion is extremely strong and well captured. The only thing I would consider changing, is the paper serpentine; it distracts from the motion, gesture and emotion of the boy.
Very good shot!

I'm not sure why you call this a classic B&W composition. I don't think there is such a thing. B&W serves a purpose to express an atmosphere, but is not a goal on its own. The coloured version is excellent, as it offers the opportunity to also perceive the warmth of the sun, which would be lost in B&W.
