About A planter of ivy in the shade caught my eye. I cranked EV down to -2 to expose the ivy, but leave the shadows in darkness.

Not crazy about the bulbs in the image but sometime you can't help that. I love the dappled shadow play in the background, it adds a nice background to the ivy. Excellent photo and exposure.

Nice de tail and colors in the green ivy. The light b ulbs and line bother me and I think they should be cropped out . The don't seem to go with the scene. Don.

Excellent contrast between the ivy and the background..the ivy appears to be floating in space....Gloria

Yeah, that's pretty much as I saw it, but my initial capture was way too bright, having averaged both the ivy and shadows, so I lowered the exposure value significantly to get what I wanted.

Amazing exposure on this Paul with the green of the ivy against the grey background. The ivy's perfectly exposed but the light bulbs do not burn out the background.
Regards,
Graham.
