Nice composition, but digital pixels in the shadow (!!!) are not nice.
Have you ever tried NeatImage (www.neatimage.com) to smoothe pixels?
Please have a look. Of course its better to use neatimage before resising photo, so I am sure you will achieve better effect.

Hi Diana, beautiful rose! I like the fact that you tried this without the use of a flash. White is hard to photograph at the best of times because it is a short step to overexposing it and then you've lost. But here you have done a good job. I agree with the comment about the artifacts in fact when i opened it on large size they were quite visible, at the medium size it looks great though.
Thanks for your recent comments Diana, i remember you were one of the first to give me some serious critique and comments here on usefilm and i value your opinion very much.

Your imagination,composition are just excellent. Just a few thoughts. If you try lighting this picture from top slightly behind with a 60 or 100 watts bulb (diffused) you find the leaves showing details and grey tones much better. You will still have your 'shadows'. I read another comment to use neatimage, no doubt it is a wonderful software and is the best but here you have one more which is even better and very fast. www.noiseware.com (free download available) This software is simple and lot of presets are available. Enjoy.

pleas don't start to use flash on plants and flowers. it ruins all the beauty just for disclosing details in harsh lighting.
