About One of the most photogenic bodies of water I've ever seen, the smooth, mirrorlike qualities of Lugu certainly lend itself to nice photography. At an altitude of nearly 2700 metres, it's a breath of fresh air from city life in China. Here, a Mosuo (the main ethnic group in the area) fisherman plies his way through the water....

beautiful composition..i just wish the weather is not too misty so that the bg color can be captured more vividly.

This is really superb. I love the higher contrast of the boat and fisherman, and the softer tones in the mountains.

hi eddy. thank you so much for your kind words. unfortunately, july and august in yunnan province are the rainiest months of the year (which i wasn't aware of when i decided to holiday there). in particular, at the altitude of lugu, things can be much worse than they are in kunming city (the capital), for example, which is about 1000 metres lower. rain and cloud persist, but in some cases, this adds to the photo. i do plan to return to this area in the winter or spring when the weather is optimal for photos and travel. take care.... james.
