About I returned to the spot where I took the 'Swathes of Colour' image this morning and walked over the hill to see what might be on the other side. Imagine my delight when I came across this sight! The field edge was deep crimson with highlights of yellow and purple with the pinkish-white of the poppies in the field provide a fine contrast. Mist filled the valley to the right of this image and spilled into the gap in the distance. I captured the best of the mist with my film camera but will have to wait to see the results. I used a 0.6 hard ND grad to balance the exposure between land and sky and a polariser to bring out the maximum colour in the flowers.

I am impressed with so much about this photo. The lighting is perfect, bringing out the colors, without harshness or glare. The composition is to me, flawless. The linear elements along with the contrasts in color make this just plain beautiful to look at. I looked over your portfolio, and am very impressed with the stunning landscapes, and your overall perspective of Mother Earth. Great work, Barry. I'll be adding you to my friends list, so I don't miss any more. ..Brad
