About I spotted this praying mantis on the window as I came out of work to go to lunch. Being on the window did not make for a very good shot. I coaxed it onto a stick and carried it to a nearbye Crape Myrtle tree. It was very dificult to get this shot. The mantis didn't want to sit still and the wind was blowing, thus constantly moving the tree. Out of 20 or so shots, this was the best one. Lens was in macro mode. ISO 800 A little bit of PS sharpening.

Teniendo crecimiento para arriba en Miami, la Florida entiendo un poco español, pero no puedo traducir su comentario sobre mi cuadro de los mantis. También, mis recuerdos a usted, bombero del compañero.

I love Praying Manti. I think it's such a cool looking insect.

I used to have them as pets when I was a kid. One day I found a large cocoon stuck on a stick, so I brought it home. A few weeks later, it hatched, and literally a thousand Baby Manti leapt out of this thing and flew away with the wind.... it was the coolest thing I ever saw.... to this day....

Yeah it's hard to shoot them - they like to get "jiggy wit' it" bobbling from side to side....

but you got this one nicely! And sometimes it takes that many to get the right shot, eh?

Cheers!
