Hi Roger, This is what I like most; the uncommon camera, creating excellent images... Very cool. Nice touch of placing yourself (partially) in view. It adds a very spontaneous feel to this shot. Would it be possible to capture yourself twice (using either the overlap or by walking past the camera? Would be fun to experiment with...

Hugo, capturing yourself twice is a sort of cliche with rotary cameras and would soon pall... but I AM tempted to establish a Hitchcock tradition, with me always in there somewhere. (It's quite hard NOT to be, of course!)

Keith, I'm experimenting with this over the weekend. When I can get it working it will be at www.adex-japan.com/roger/
There are a lot of parameters to juggle with.
Be prepared for a longish download, as I want to use a large image with lots of detail for the first one. Later I'll offer two versions of each panorama--one smaller and highly compressed and the other for people with broadband connections.

If you have Java enabled you'll see a high-res version of this image (4000 pixels wide by 1,000 high) that you can scroll LR and UD with your cursor keys, and zoom in and out using the plus and minus keys.

One word, Roger: FANTASTIC!!
I had no problem viewing this one in glorious VR. It's so much better seeing the whole scene (including your good self :>)) that much bigger!!

Chris, since it could be enabled at Usefilm with very little extra work and no penalties for those who don't like panoramas, perhaps you might like to support my suggestion that this option should be made available here? I made it in the "Suggestions" forum.

How do you scan such a large negative? This is such a remarkable photo ... extremely sharp focus and wonderful composition.

George, I use an ordinary Epson flatbed scanner with a transparency adaptor. It will scan only up to 6 x 9cm negs, so I do my 6 x 22cm negs in three "bites" and then put them together in PaintShop Pro. The 6 x 22cm is actually longer than needed for 360 degrees, so I cut it back to 18cm after I've joined them. Glad you liked it! A new Epson scanner is coming out any day now that will scan up to 6 x 22cm negs, so I'll be looking into that!
