About Well, I'm just back from the wedding ~ what a great day!!! Everything went so well ~ it was a really joyful occasion.

This is the visual aid that I created for my wedding address. I put it together in PS7, at A3 size (about 40x30cms) at 330 dpi, then enlarged it to 80x60cms with a PS plug-in. A good friend printed it out on his plotter and then I mounted it in a glass frame!!

All the different shapes and pictures had specific meanings that I commented on in my talk and, after the service, the happy couple took the print away as a reminder of what I'd said to them.

Have a great Sunday, wherever you spend it.

Best regards to all, Chris

P.S. The camera name and lens entries are a little bit meaningless, though I did take the picture of the biblical text with my D70.

Looks like you had a nice day Chris!
Neat visual you constructed (but Mark or Luke must get the credit)!!

Hope the rest of the evening is great!
Lori :)

Hi Chris, I like the idea of this shot. Good set of details. I find the cut-out patterns a bit too perfect, though. Have you considered using the outline of elements taken from your other shots?

Cheers,

Hugo

Thanks for the comment, Hugo, but I'm just wondering if you had a chance to read the 'about'. The fact is, I put this together for a wedding which is now all 'done and dusted'!! As it was, it took me several hours to produce, as it wasn't just a case of creating the first thing that came into my head but a four-part image (quaptych?!!) which illustrated what I wanted to say in my talk!! If I had used bits of my own images the cut-outs would have simply taken too long!! These were created with the PS shape tool, then filled with a combination of layer effects and images culled from my own work, as well as a couple from a Hemera CD Rom.

Best regards, Chris

Thanks for the comment, Lori, but the REAL credit goes even higher than Mark or Luke of course!! :-)

It was Jesus, Himself, who said that we should love God with all our hearts, souls, mind and strength. I just adapted His words and applied them to a marriage relationship. i.e. We should love our partners with all our hearts (romantic love), all our souls (the spiritual dimension), all our minds (shared interests, etc.), and all our strength (an enduring love).

You may be interested in one of the stories I shared with them, which goes as follows?

A little girl approached a little boy at their nursery school one day and said, ?Hey, Billy, do you want to play house??

?Okay!?, said Billy. ?What do you want me to do??

?I want you to communicate your feelings?, said Sally.

?Communicate my feelings??, said a bewildered Billy. ?I have no idea what that means.?

?Perfect?, said Sally. ?You can be the husband.?!! :-)

Hi Chris, I've red your about comment, but as usual, that doesn't prevent me from thinking out loud....) But hey! I guess these things happen more often, don't they? In Photoshop, you can save selections, and add brushes, too. That way, you'll only need to do that once. My point being, the standard shapes are quite recognisable as such, and customising them only takes a little more time, but may improve the result tremendously.

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi Chris,

I was reading a book a bit earlier and got to thinking about the comment regarding Mark and Luke, and realized that was not where the credit goes at all!! Credit goes to the Author Himself!

Love your examples, RIGHT ON, I'm sure the couple were much blessed by your words as well!

Great little story by the way!!! I LOVE IT!
That too is RIGHT ON! (See? It's the same world wide huh?) :)
Lori :)
