Nice B&W with good contrast. A suggestion - what about removing the light in the bottom right corner - it sort of draws the eyes away from the main focal point (IMHO). For the life of me, I can't remember what "Guggenheim" is - can you perhaps help. It sounds so fmailiar.

Nice shot ... I have to agree about the light on the bottom right. It is a little distracting. And I Believe that Guggenheim is the Famous family ( wealthy) that has built many art museums around the world. Peggy Guggenheim was notorious in the 40's for having many lovers.....god forbid. Mostly artists While running art galleries in New York and later in Europe.
I like your subject matter and the B/w really creates a mood for this piece as well.

I guess with 2 people already saying something about the light, it has to be right. I guess I'm weird. I liked the little light play.. that was one of the things that made me choose this one. Oh well....lol Thanks for making me look at it in a different light.

i dont think that it is the wrong thing but the light may be just a little to low to support the image rather then pulling my eye out of the photo..... but hey its a subjective thing and not a rule. we all use our eyes differently. If you like stick to your guns.

I like the sense of serenity here, Rebecca - I guess that's why there's a bench there, huh? :) I happen to love dappled light in a photo because of the depth and varied interest it creates (like the bright tombstone at lower-left that stands out so nicely against it's more somber surroundings) I think the only reason it's less effective here is that there's not *enough* of it - just that one patch. Were it illuminating a key subject it might stand on it's own. (Did I overthink that? :)

I think I have run out of superlatives to describe your cemetery shots Rebecca without the risk of repeating myself and everyone else...but I gotta say OUTSTANDING! Beautiful sunlight peaking through here and there, wonderful tones and contrast.

That little dab of light doesn't bother me. It's natural. And, I think a couple of people missed that "ER" on the name. It's not "Guggenheim" as in The Guggenheim Museum. Don't you have a nursing home around that area named the Guggenheimer. Back to your photo: I like it!

I like the little patch of light. Just soft dappled sunlight shining through the trees, It adds to the atmosphere of quiet and peacefulness.

Interesting subject, good choice of B&W
good details. I would have liked to see te subject a little more centred so as to show more of the right part.
As for the light spot at the bottom right, I think that's exactly what would have attracted me and moved me to take the shot. The darker part on the rest of the grave suits the mood.
