About I decided to try and light this using an approach that I have used in After Effects, "Instant Sex". The image is duplicated into a second layer. The duplicate is then levelled to increase contrast, blurred (guassian, 5 pixel), and then set to a vivid light transfer mode (80% layer opacity).

I would prefer to see a tad more sharpness, otherwise its very good action shot.

Yeah, I was worried a bit about the blurring. I should have reduced the radius of the blur some more, or reduced the opacity of the layer transfer, though that would have mucked with the vividness.

Thanks for the critique, much appreciated as always.
