panning from such an angle is much trickier than shooting parallel to your moving subjects. anyway,i like your photograph very much, cessy - the color and light are excellent and the single sharp cyclist among his blurred competitors makes this image special :-)
my best regards,
kostas

It was not difficult for me to pick your "about to lead" to comment on, Ms. Karina. It is the last one you posted, therefore the first one I see, but there is a more fundanmental reason. I studied pre-med studies in Zurich and criss-crossed most of Switzerland on bicycle, including the mountain passes. This was in the years 1950-52, but the memories are still there.
Thank you for your kind comment on my "Return of nature's geometry"
Regards,
Dr. Rafael (Rafi) Springmann

A wonderfully executed panning shot. Well done. Love the colours, and the way you were able to capture one of the riders in sharp focus... goes well with the title of the image.

ottimo scatto sulla velocita' e sul fuoco selettivo...colori stupendi e foto ben realizzata..complimenti

I am a cyclist and love bicycle photos. The relative speed between the sharply rendered cyclist and the rest of the group could not be great so that it's hard to believe that could explain the differences in sharp/blur. Maybe some PS help? No matter, I like the image and the effect.

cessy karina   {K:14205} 8/26/2004
thanks Richard, originally I did try to focus only to a single cyclist, then I used PS to crop, curve and USM, which might accentuate the difference between the focused cyclist and the rest of the group. Here is the original file without PS touch, only resize :)

Such interesting capture! Yes, focus seems better on your attached one, but still it can be seen on main one too! And the colours turned out fabulous, really deep and beautiful tones! Nice feeling of movement!
