About College Creek in Annapolis flows into the Severn River, which itself is an arm of the Chesapeake Bay.

Both the U.S. Naval Acadamy and St. John's border College Creek, and on any given morning this time of year, you can see a crew shell from one of these schools heading out to the Severn from College Creek.

I literally grabbed this shot after drivng over the College Creek Bridge and seeing the shell upstream. I pulled my car over to the shoulder, jumped out and ran back to the bridge just in time to catch this mixed crew of what appears to be both young and old rowers.
