About Wonderful day!!

The church was full, the music group were excellent, and the sermon seemed to go well!! Then we had lunch with some dear friends, before going on to a garden party at one of my fellow leaders' homes!! Superb! (Apart from the rain, which meant we had to have an indoors garden party!)

Back home now (obviously!!) and a chance to catch up with what my brilliant bunch of UF friends have been up to! It still amazes me that more-or-less every day I hear from busy people from South Africa, the States, Holland, Switzerland, Brazil, Slovakia, New Zealand, Japan and the good old U.K.! Fantastic!!

So this little whimsy is for YOU, my dear UF friends.

My best to you all for the coming week!

Chris

P.S. If you would like a brief tutorial on how to do these frames, please e-mail me at?
chrisspracklen@btopenworld.com and I'll get one to you as soon as time allows!

You had a fabulous day Chris!
AWESOME!!!!!!!! work on this image - gosh, this is great! I don't want tutorials on the frame :-)) but I would like to know just how do you add so much colour to your images? How many layers - on average? If you feel like sharing with me ... I will SO appreciate it!
Driving around with Robert this morning, I was looking at the (Winter and bare) countryside and could see various images that I just know YOU would have turned into masterpieces.
Goodnight

ken krishnan   {K:19102} 8/8/2004
I think this tops the never ending list of all your PS works. Eye catching colors. Rather unusual as well in that usualy in a sunset scene all the objects in front are silohuttes.

Excellent work, Chris.

Regards,
ken.

Hi Chris, as always a pleasure to read your log...

As for the frame, I have to admit it fits well with the image. I won't email you, though, as I know how to make them....;o)

As for the photo, i think the shot is as good as they get, but I think in light of the subject and your story, it's a bit too gloomy and heavy. The scene itself is beautiful and apparently tranquil. With your rework (very well done, by the way) it appears more gloomy and ominous.

The black shadow below also seems a bit out of place, too heavy for the mood you described.

But hey! It's your shot, and these are only subjective observations. The shot is not only well captured, but also expertly post-processed....

Cheers,

Hugo

Chris, just to say thank you for your interest in and support of my panoramas. They seem SUCH a minority taste here that I get quite discouraged. Of course, they can't look their best within the 800 pixel limit... [boohoo] And I'm still clawing my way up the learning curve.

There's a church interior waiting for you now! Do let me know what you think... Next Sunday I hope to take one in our Cathedral.

Walter Scarella   {K:17237} 8/9/2004

Den Thompson   {K:30432} 8/10/2004
Hi Chris. Just taking the chance at lunchtime to touch base and do a few comments. Time's racing by these days.
When I saw this shot I thought you was going to tell us it was the fruits of a mornings work with your scythe but then I realised it is sunset so it took you all day? (HaHaHa) A very evocative shot.
Den
PS Stephen and Nigel have expressed interest in the meet.

Tim  Schumm   {K:26928} 8/10/2004
Hi Chris I just got back from afar and have to catch up on what you are up to over there. this one is stellar. I have yet to get a good photo of those hay bales. the composition works so very well as does the tinting of this image. The mood is so prevalent.

Tim :)

Kees van der Voet   {K:2227} 8/12/2004
Very nice work, Chris.
You may try to remove the shadows in the foreground. I'm not sure it'd be an improvement, but worth a try.
Having said that, browsing your portfolio, I like what you are doing.
Regards, Kees

Craig Garland   {K:27077} 8/13/2004
A wondeful shot Chris-- don't know how much of it is PS created-- or not-- but nicely done. And being a "country boy", I can appreciate this. Cheers. Craig
