Dear Paul,
you're right, the small blur adds to the scene. the "weak" midrange tonal values support the mood. I like the shot from the back, so one can think about what they actually see or feel when watching the sea. great mood!

Love how the daughter bridges the first swath of water, while the mother is as tall as the band of foamy water. Makes the daughter look taller and plays with the perspective; it's a nice side effect of your strong composition.
Could maybe stand to lose just a shade off bottom? Just short of having the start of the band of sea touch the corner of the picture. That much dark sand looks quite heavy and detracts from the contrast between the mother's clothes and the light sea.

I like the blurriness to as it gives one the sense of it being any woman with their daughter (and we'd all like a shot like this with our kids). :) I love that it looks so thoughtful with them in the photo - the mom's head is cocked and the daughter looking up. Great sight.
