This one's excellent, too! I have to petty niggles this time.
The fires may be catastrophic, but are they not a necessary stage of the regeneration of the vegetation?
I read somewhere (National Geographic?) that because of all the controls over small and normal bush fires, there's loads of fuel available for the big catastrophic ones...

oh... it?s so sad to see the remains of a once living tree... no birds will sing again on these branches and the wind will whistle in pain in this land... countless tree-casualties every year for what purpuse???? so minimal image and yet so strong message you pass here dear Yoshi.... it makes my heart cry and rebell... emy

I love the shadows and abstract quality of this image -- being from Orange, CA I remember well the fires every year -- well captured -- beauty from destruction. K

Hi Yoshi, a powerful image indeed. The scorched land is very well captured. Confronting image. What a waste, but then again, forest fires have been part of human nature for centuries....
