| About |
He pulled a joint from his pocket- and I watched it glow in the darkness. The fear ascended behind my eyes, and I felt trapped inside. This was every instance of childhood, being viciously ripped down from it's skeleton- and I watched with dying faith, as the smoke came curling from his lips. Around the room, on the dead ground, in the dead night, life came falling down and shriveled up on the floor. He inhaled the murky poison. I could smell the acrid fumes around me; and I coughed. Every time I breathed, I could taste a wasted life on the wind . . . each thread of air I took, reeked of rotten smoke and black lungs. I watched the joint glow and I hoped he couldn't see my face. I saw the orange light reflected in his eyes . . . a small pinprick of gold; small enough to overlook . . . but against the darkness, it was the only thing I saw. I hung my head and crossed my arms on the top of my knees. My hands hung down in defeat as I tried to breath in through my mouth. I was afraid for the first time in my life of my friend.

The picture is what caught my eye, but you "about" is very interesting in insightful as well, especially to the changes we see in people we know when they use drugs. . Awesome. Tim

Ciana - at first I thought exhale on cigarette, but after reading your about...I gotta say kudos for you for getting it "out there" -- while some may say "too controversial" to comment on...I don't agree - it's reality - you captured it now leave it to the "viewer" to perceive. I think the attitude is strong here and the tonal quality good. Your photography shows range. Kind Regards, Cindi

You have captured a very difficult scene here. The relaxed attitude of the man and the smoke just casually coming out from him is excellent. The tones are soft but promising for this style of image.
