About She is alone and blue, and POUTING big time! She was with her family, obviously tourists, and she was NOT a happy camper. I didn't want to ruin her mood by moving around to better see her face, however, I kind of like it, shows the 'mood'....

Great capture Lori - what I like most is the soft pastel colour of the water! Great crop ... and ... great, great frame :-)

Excellent compo Lori! She is really deep in her thoughts ... beautiful blue water!

Chris Spracklen   {K:32552} 8/12/2004
I t certainly does 'show the mood', Lori!
It almost bursts out of my monitor!
The girl's in a world of her own, wrapped up in the injustice of life ~ at least, at what she perceives to be the unfairness of her life!!
That's only my impression. Of course, she could be really upset about something far more serious?
Nice capture!
Best regards, Chris

Richard Thornton   {K:26442} 8/12/2004
The theme really comes through in this image because of the body language and composition. Did you soften the image with a filter or in PS? It looks like it to me and that also works well. You can almost feel the bad vibes emminating from her head!

Don Loseke   {K:32503} 8/12/2004
Very nice and the slight softness makes it even better. Very nice mood. Don.

Lori Stitt   {K:74437} 8/12/2004
Hi Richard,
Yes, I did soften this image!
Thanks for your comment!
Lori :)

Hi Lori... Beautiful portrait... Your captured the mood very well... She seems kind of unhappy... Maybe here parents did not gave her permission to do something...

Well composed... and very nice colors... Love the framing.

Cheers,

Maria

Oh The Fetal position, how we regress when things aren't going our way. Your photo shows the prevailing climate. Very good angle without effecting the pose. I would imagine if things were bad enough she was looking down a black tunnel anyway.

Amna Al Shamsi   {K:21073} 8/12/2004
Excellent capture...it is lovely with colors .

Lori Stitt   {K:74437} 8/13/2004
Hey Stephen,
Oh YES, I know ALL ABOUT THAT...
This little girl was with her family, but all my children (3 girls and 1 boy)are all grown and gone from the house. I've always said if one has a choice, go for 3 boys and 1 girl!! :)

Yes, it gets better, if one survives that long...
LOL
Hope you're having a great day!
Lori :)

Hi Lori ... about your recommendation (3 boys + 1 girl) - do you know who really care about us when we get old? Girls! :) A mix of both is very good, though!

Stephen Bowden   {K:64519} 8/13/2004
Now that is funny Lori, my cousin tried for that ratio and ended up with 6 girls and one boy !!!

Trish McCoy   {K:20979} 8/13/2004
composed perfectly. love the colors and softness.

Lori Stitt   {K:74437} 8/13/2004

Hi Lori,
another great photo and i like it as well, it definetly shows the mood, a very moving photograph, makes me sad just looking at it haha, great composition as well, all together a fantastic capture!

-dan

Lori Stitt   {K:74437} 8/15/2004
Thanks again Dan. Isn't it funny how at times we take a picture of something we think will make an interesting image. I worked on this for several days and it just never turned into something I liked. Then the next time I looked at it, I rotated the crop giving it the diagonal line and 'bingo'...then I liked it! A simple little thing like that...(go figure!!)

Thanks again,
Lori ;)

Gregory McLemore   {K:25312} 8/16/2004

Dorothy Di Liddo   {K:13766} 8/21/2004
very nice, only kids can be so open & raw with their emotions in public. Nice capture! Dottie

ken krishnan   {K:19102} 8/27/2004
Interesting shot showing the mood very well. Little girls are adept at annoying the parents. I know it by experience.
Boys on the other hand, will simply disappear from parents sight for long time when having bad mood.

Nice image and the background.

regards,
ken.

Lori Stitt   {K:74437} 8/28/2004
Ahhh yes...experienced too huh Ken? (me too) I have 3 GIRLS and one boy....yes, no comparison!!
LOL :)
