Hello....
back in time huh? old is gold , and you captured it very well. However, I think if you darken the background a bit it will help to bring out some texture. I attached a photo, and here what i did:
1. Duplicate the layer and change it to color burn, it will be darker than the original then change the opcity to nearly 50% and merg the layer with the original. finally adjust it a bit using the curves.

From the thumbnail i thought: well another flat still life .. but looking at the photo it is much more dynamic.. exposure is perfect ! Regards, Peter
