I like the composition a lot. How the scene is framed by foliage, the fence cutting through diagonally, the eye being led to the house as it sits on the hilltop overlooking the pastoral scene. Very nice! I'm curious why you chose to use the filter. I like the painterly effect, but I'd also like to see the image without the filter.

Very nice composition, nothing in particular draws your eye, making it a great overall picture. Well balanced I guess. Very nice technique although it is probably a beautiful shot in its own right. Alison

Alison this was the version that most people liked. To me the original seemed rather mundane but breaking down the hard sharp lines gave a more pleasing, soft, tranquil effect. Thanks for the comments.
