About My In-Laws live in a floating home not far from here on the Frasier River. so as I was heading to their place for the night I have to go through all these farm fields. This is one of the views I have been wanting to capture for a long time. Hope you like it

Absolutely sumptuous.

Hi, Tim

Is that a glare left of the sun? Nice idea implementation!

Maybe it could've been worth waiting out for 10 more minutes? :)

Tim  Schumm   {K:27168} 8/15/2004
that sparkle to the left in the sky is what we call a "sundog" and often means weather is coming in the next 12hrs. or so. Couldn't wait around as dinner was waiting at home. so i had to shoot what was there and jet for the ranch so to speak.

I like the composition Tim and you have handled the light quite well. Shooting straight into the light is something film does much better that a digital sensor. With digital the best option, if youcan, is to take two or three bracketed exposures and blend them in PS. Regards John

Tim  Schumm   {K:27168} 8/15/2004
thank you for your advice John, I'm not a very technical photographer and don't always give much thought to what I'm shooting. mostly I shoot in volume going on instinct. and just sorting it all out later at home. Plus my PS skills are getting better but I'm at a very rudimentary level....so there you have it....I'm too impatient to fool around to much... LOL

Beautiful lighting! Outstanding!

Chris Spracklen   {K:32552} 8/15/2004
I love the yellows and golds you can pick up when the sun is in the right spot ~ you've caught them well on this shot, Tim.
Well done!
Kind regards, Chris

Beautiful late afternoon shot, I love how the shadows of the trees spread across the sunlit field to the grasses in the foreground. And the way the perspective of the trees in the opposite direction, bring my attention to the photo as awhole. Alison

I like the way the sun sneaks through and lights the foreground but doesn't cause any len's flair ! also nice diagonals. good shot

Spectacular, I love the angles in this shot, the trees, their shadows, the crops in the field. Nice work!

jennifer armstrong   {K:6688} 8/16/2004
great shot, Tim. I like how the softer, more muted colours in the sky balance out the punchier, brighter colours in the grass in the forground. Great lines & perspective - strong composition. Really lovely shot.

Linn Currie   {K:24426} 8/16/2004
Great title and I can understand why you wanted to capture this. Love the tree lines; the green harvest pops; but what I like most is the golden grass in the foreground.
Well seen and captured.
Linn

Superb shot. Thankyou for the suggestion. I will keep that in mind when shooting clouds from the next time. I was shooting from my apartment terrace and the position of the cloud was such that I could not include the city skyline. Thanks again for the suggestion.

Hi Linn, yes the foreground is the foundation of the majority of my images. It is what helps the "eye" to be led into a image but not held onto at the same time. a very tricky balence at times. I'm glad you liked this one.
Tim :)

greetings.

Excellent exposure and composition .. i like this one a lot .. such "wanted" captures can be real nags, don't they .. mine is a "foggy morning sunrise shot" .. but i cannot get up early enough :-( regards, Peter

So beautiful. It seems a bucolic painting.
My compliments.
