About To see old beautiful trees, totally stripped of not only their vegetation, but every bit of bark....is unbelievable. I have alwasy enjoyed the times I have had my camera in my hands, but not today...to try and capture total devastation...is too hard on the soul. The temperature here is in the 90's, and the sun starts burning after just a few minutes outside..but the police, firefighters, paramedics, search and rescue, utility workers, and volunteers were out there all day, for the third day in a row...and still the streets look like a war had taken place.

As I am sitting here viewing your photos of the devastation, Gloria, I also have the weather channel on and it just showed some pictures from the aftermath of the storm. Their words "It looks like a war zone", just as you had stated and just as you have depicted in your 3 photos.

Gloria

this is what Siren Wisconsin looked like when I went there after the Tornado, a war zone. that is the best explaination. Your photos are good to see in that they show the damage, however I really respect your choice not to show personal tragedy.

Gloria, I agree with Jim and respect you immensely for not portraying personal tragedies. We pursue our hobby for enjoyment. We are not journalists looking for the spectacular at other peoples expense. You have posted more than I expected but what you have done is given me an insight to the tragedy on a more intimate basis than the media ever could.
