About Sometimes I come across a poem that just appeals to me and I want to get a photo that matches the poem. This particular poem is adapted from "Who Will Cry for the Little Boy" by Antwone Fisher. You may have come across it if you saw the movie or read his book. Anyway, I have been wanting to do a picture to match this poem for a while now. I think this one works well with the poem. (The photo is best viewed large)

Who will cry for the little girl, lost and all alone?
Who will cry for the little girl, abandoned without her own?
Who will cry for the little girl? She cried herself to sleep.
Who will cry for the little girl? She never had for keeps.
Who will cry for the little girl? Who knows well hurt and pain.
Who will cry for the little girl? She died and died again.
Who will cry for the little girl? A good girl she tried to be.
Who will cry for the little girl, who cries inside of me?
- adapted from ?Who Will Cry for the Little Boy? by Antwone Fisher

excellent. love the shot she's a doll and the poem is beautiful. I love how her hair is covering the one eye.

Great to have a literary approach, and I loved the movie and the poem. But a lot can be read from the photo itself, too.

First of all, Ciana, let me say that the natural light is beautiful and works so well here.

But then, I must say, I see a real individual here, who is composed and trusting. Definitely with a mind of her own, but reaching out with her eyes. Her crying soul is quiet for the moment and I see understanding and hope.

Thanks for the imagery, Leora

Ciana great use of light here - a lovely portrait. I'm going to state my personal opinion here and take the high road - I don't see her as "sad", but more inquisitive - so I would have to agree with Leora as well - she presents herself confidently and not in "pain" - it's interesting seeing your portfolio now with the mix of "urban" and/or social issues to "children" - some may shy away from commenting when they see both worlds mixed, not sure if the two sync -- rather it's an insight to your "vision" and/or experiences... Psych 101 huh? Well done. Kind Regards, Cindi
