About First of all, my apologies for loading up a photo of someone smoking ~ It clearly left a bad taste in some of your mouths!! To be honest, I didn't even notice the woman was smoking until I'd done a little work on it!! Shame, because I kind of liked the end result ~ but I've certainly no wish to in any way promote or glamourise smoking, hence its withdrawal from my portfolio.

I took this shot this morning, in Yeovil town centre. I'm rubbish at street photography so I thought I'd get some practice in as I'd had to go in to get some picture frames.

I have, of course, worked on this image in PS, and it's gone through a number of stages to get to this ~ a state with which I'm reasonably happy.

I hope it's sympathetic and I hope you like it. BUT, feel free to tell me if you don't!!

Best regards, Chris

I didn't get to look at the one that you took off. I really like this effect. Makes his pants and coat look really nice. Don.

Great effect, Chris. I looked earlier, thought about it, then came back and looked again. I love the way you made the watch the focal point.

WOW, Chris, I usually don't like the pencil/brush stroks photos such as this, BUT....this one I REALLY LIKE. Maybe it's the simplicity of it, or the tones, I don't know, but this is REALLY appealing to me.

I LIKE IT!!! It's very artsy, and that's OK!!
Lori :)

Hi Chris,
First of all, this is a very good picture/composition.
Then I thought, why not in B&W without the PS stuff.
So I scrolled down, and saw Pia did that already.
Think it's stronger.
John

Pier Luigi Bosini   {K:1673} 8/18/2004
I think that this image gives perfectly the feeling of the wait which is definitely the real target of the shot. You shown also a great PS control - I like both version: the one manipulated by you and the one in B/W by Pia (the former with the enlarged canvas).
My congrats / Pier Luigi

Tony Franck   {K:1235} 8/18/2004

Lukasz Kuczkowski   {K:14684} 8/18/2004
Chris, the composition here is just perfect and I love it; for the effect I think that b&w works the best here (as Pia has showed it);
regards
Lukasz

Linn Currie   {K:24426} 8/18/2004
Hmmm ... I like, I like!! Actually, I like the effect VERY much! Different for a Spracklen image - in a refreshing way.
If you don't mind, I will be emailing you later on - if you could reply to me once you have sorted out the mountain of paperwork?! :-)

Hi Chris, i do like this... On the thumbnail which of course drew my interest to it, i couldn't tell it was PSed, so you could say i would have liked it without the effects :) But it is still a good result and shows you are a master of PS. Well done
Best regards Neil
