About I am not now, nor have I ever been, a dog owner.

But when I stumbled across this dog show Sunday afternoon at the community college near me... wow! What a lot of fun!

Nice people, cut dogs, and plenty of photo opportunities.

This situation, with the seemingly aloof matron holding her dog, just called out for a "lapdog" shot!

Steve, great shot of the dog, nice catch light in the eye.
Theres a small straight white line on the dog that is out of place, cant tell what it is, if its part of the leash or coller, but it is a bit of a distraction, other then that it a great shot.

Thanks, Jim!

Can you point me a bit more closely to the stray white line? I can't see it. Maybe you could post a small copy of the photo along with a reply with the area circle?

Thanks,
SteveR

Steve, not sure how to post a copy of the photo but, if you follow the leash up to the dog then look to the left of where it meets the dog, it is there.
Hope this helps.

great dog portrait! it looks like a cavalier king charles spaniel...there are a couple photos of one on Alison DeLeo's usefilm. i would probably crop out the woman's face and crop it closer to the dog, but it is good either way! well done! glad you enjoyed the dog show!

Thanks K&M!

>>i would probably crop out the woman's face and crop it closer to the dog<<

I thought about that, but I wasn't happy when I tried it. Here is an example more closely cropped - what to you think? For me, I didn't like the "disembodied hand", and on the other hand, I liked the somewhat standoffish expression on the exposed part of the woman's face.

Thanks again for your kind comments and also for the information on the breed of dog :-)

Best regards,
SteveR

Hi Tahsin!

>>>Yes it's Lapdog has a Bluetooth and USB connection throw his tail :)<<

Now you're talkin! :-) I had forgotten that I still have around, somewhere, an old and slow laptop.... I named it's Network ID as "Lapdog" because... well, it was a dog!

Thanks for visiting my photos and for your excellent puns!

Best regards,
SteveR

This is great, as if they were both awaiting the results. I like how you only included the lower part of the womans face, allowing that and her hand to frame the dog nicely. This caught my eye since I have photographed my friend Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Alison
